Triumph of the Heart is a powerful and deeply moving drama inspired by the true story of St. Maximilian Kolbe, the Polish Franciscan friar who volunteered to die in place of another prisoner at Auschwitz.
The leading role is played by Marcin Kwaśny, acclaimed for his performances in Historia Roja and Wyklęty, who brings remarkable depth and authenticity to the portrayal of the saint’s courage and inner peace. The film focuses on Kolbe’s final days in the starvation bunker, where he transforms unimaginable suffering into a testament of faith, hope, and sacrifice — the triumph of love over hatred.
